The seat of expression, communication, and truth-telling.
What Is the Vishuddhi (Throat) Chakra?
The Vishuddhi Chakra, also referred to as Vishuddha or the Throat Chakra, is the fifth major energy center. Situated at the throat, it is in charge of communication, self-expression, and being able to convey your truth.
When the energy moves freely from the heart (fourth chakra) to the throat, you are able to speak pure and unconditional love with clarity, sincerity, and inspiration.
The Function of the Fifth Chakra
This chakra affects the way you speak, listen, and connect through words, whether in verbal or creative expression or in public speaking. It is also associated with expressing feelings, ideas, and emotions without fear or hesitation.
Mind-Body Connection
Physically, the Vishuddhi Chakra is associated with:
- Vocal cords and voice
- Hearing
- Thyroid and parathyroid glands
Obstructions can lead to thyroid problems, hearing issues, or chronic throat ailments.
If you frequently have trouble expressing emotions, don’t like speaking your mind, or feel isolated from society, your Throat Chakra could require some attention.
